Hi, I'm J. Zackary Cupp! And my wife Stephenie and I are a small town couple with a big American dream –
To be our own boss, do the things we love, and live the life we want!
Writing has always been one of my great passions. Words are like sweet honey to my soul! And I've been at it for over 15 years.
I've done everything from spoken word poetry for large and small audiences…
…to teaching creative writing for a community art program.
I've written for and consulted politicians and a bestselling author and I've even won a few competitions!
I also spent many years with the State of Indiana, assisting people in applying for public assistance. And a chunk of that was spent as a coach, manager, and trainer.
And I currently write for my antique retail business that I run with my wife and family.
Speaking of my wife…
Steph on the other hand is the business and numbers maestro! Without her, this whole operation falls apart.
She has been one of the few people to serve as the Benefit Recovery Supervisor for the State of Indiana (she was also the youngest). Basically…she was a pretty big deal.
She now takes care of our baby boy full time while managing our businesses.
She's also a violist, poet, interior decorator, and a beautiful creative. She brings to Half Acre her eye for detail and her attention to quality.
But aside from our businessy selves, we're just some laid back country Hoosiers (we're from Indiana). We're into all the small town, hole in the wall, bespoke type stuff Midwesterners tend to love.
We're crazy about antiques, anything amish, and country living. I mean…we vacation in Amish country…often…
It's all about the simple life for us. Because no matter what, this is the only one we get. And we believe that keeping things uncomplicated and authentic is the best way to focus on what really matters – living the full and beautiful life Christ purchased for us, all with the ones we love.
As with everyone on this planet, my wife and I were deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything about our lives completely changed, especially our overall outlook.
We realized the importance of family and living life without regrets as we navigated distance and loss. And while we were working from home, we discovered the freedom of working from the comfort of our own space. We fell in love with what that kind of life meant for the both of us.
But overall we realized life is a gift – we get one life to live so live it to the fullest.
So we started to ponder – what kind of business could we have that'd be perfect for us and our family?
Half Acre Writing was the response to that search. We married my experience as a writer and creative with my wife's experience in business, marketing, and professional quality to birth our dream business.
Now we work to help other business owners make the most of their own businesses. And we'd love to do the same with you!
